Titanic is a love story that captures the romance of two young lovers, as the tragedy of the doomed ship, the Titanic, taking place around them. It was released in 1997 and was a great commercial success and critical acclaim, winning 11 Academy Awards (the first to do so since "Ben Hur") and three Grammy Awards. It 'was written, directed, co-produced and co edited by James Cameron, who also won the Oscar for best director. 'Titanic' has become the grossest movie of all time, earning 1.8 billion U.S. dollars at the box office than it was in 2010 has exceeded the 'Avatar', another film by James Cameron.

The story is about two young people from different social classes Leonardo DiCaprio appears as Jack Dawson and Kate Winslet plays the role of Rose DeWitt Bukater who fall in love while on board the ill fated maiden voyage of the Titanic in 1912. Although the love story is fictional, many of the characters the crew and passengers were based on those who were actually on board a real ship. For example, brash Margaret "Molly" Brown (played by Kathy Bates), was famous for his heroic efforts (not shown in the film) trying to save the drowning passengers. It later became known as the "unsinkable Molly Brown."

There were many scenes in the film, if only briefly mentioned, which added significantly the emotional impact of the inevitable sinking of the passengers and crew. Two historical figures were Isadora and Ida Strauss. Isadora was the former owner of RH Macy & Company and was a former member of Congress from New York. In the film, his wife Ida have the option to abandon ship in a lifeboat, but he refuses and returns to her husband, saying he will honor his promise of marriage and be with Isidor. She is the last time hugged him lying on the bed in his cabin with water fast, Levels of emotion, which added to other scenes that portray the courage evident crew. Joseph Bell, the chief engineer and his men worked frantically until the last moment to keep as much light, and the secondary signals can be sent. They are all lost.
