The Lion King takes place at Pride Rock, a serene jungle paradise on the African plain. At Pride Rock, every animal lives as part of a harmonious ecosystem, ruled by the largest animal of all, the strong and wise lion, King Mufasa. When Mufasa's wife gives birth to cub Simba, Scar the uncle of the young heir began plotting the downfall of his brother and take the kingdom by force. To form a plot with a herd of wild hyenas, Scar's plan is to attract the evil Simba and Mufasa in a valley where the hyenas raise a herd of wildebeest that eventually trample Mufasa and leaving him hanging by his life on the edge a cliff. With his life in balance Mufasa, Scar takes this opportunity to send his brother, hurling a bloody death.

With the king gone, and too young to defend the kingdom, Scar and the hyenas Simba came to power. Pride Rock is soon reduced to a desert as its newest leaders ravage the landscape, while Simba is forced into exile. Fleeing a distant land without predators, Simba befriends Pumbaa and Timon, a warthog and meerkat who live a carefree life feasting on grubs and insects. But over time, a chance encounter with Simba meets his childhood destiny.
